ESG/GHG

Environmental, Social and Governance, & Greenhouse Gas

CDH has extensive expertise in assisting clients with GHG and ESG reports and metrics. GHG reporting is becoming increasingly complex, with new regulations finalized in 2024 that will impact future reporting requirements. These changes also carry implications for potential methane fees introduced under the Inflation Reduction Act. CDH brings extensive expertise in managing GHG data collection and reporting for clients of all sizes, offering tailored support to meet your specific needs. Our experience ranges from assisting small operators in conducting GHG evaluations to confirm exemption from federal reporting requirements, to collaborating with large operators using advanced tracking systems to extract, compile, and analyze GHG data for multi-basin reports.

ESG reporting can also be complex due to the lack of a standardized reporting framework; the information requested by investors and shareholders often varies from one company to another. Moreover, the requirements of ESG reporting differ significantly from state or federal greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting. For instance, while ESG environmental metrics are typically categorized under Scope 1, 2, or 3, GHG emissions reporting does not directly align with these Scope categories.

CDH specializes in guiding clients through the intricacies of ESG and GHG reporting for oil and gas assets. Our comprehensive services include field data collection, emissions calculations, accurate classification of emission sources for ESG and GHG categories, evaluation of strategies to improve ESG/GHG metrics and methane intensity, and preparation of polished slide decks for corporate or third-party presentations. With decades of combined experience in environmental compliance across multiple states and geological basins, CDH is uniquely positioned to support your ESG & GHG compliance efforts—from managing spill and produced liquid volumes to assessing water usage and evaluating gas recapture, reuse, or flaring strategies.
